How to Fund Your Chipper Cash USD Card with Naira: Step-by-Step Guide

Funding your virtual dollar card shouldn’t be complicated. Chipper Cash allows Nigerian users to convert their local Naira balance into USD instantly to fund their virtual Visa card.

Prerequisites Before You Start

  • Verified Chipper Cash account with Tier 3 KYC (BVN and valid ID verified).
  • Active Nigerian commercial bank account or mobile banking app.
  • Minimum Naira equivalent of $5 (card creation + initial deposit).

Step 1: Deposit Naira to Your Chipper Wallet

Open the Chipper app, tap Add Cash, and copy your dedicated virtual account number (powered by 9PSB or Providus). Transfer your desired Naira amount via your local banking app.

Step 2: Navigate to the Cards Section

Tap the Card icon on the bottom navigation bar. If you haven’t created a card yet, tap Claim Your Card and choose USD Card.

Step 3: Top Up Card from Naira Balance

Select your USD card, tap Add Funds, specify the dollar amount you wish to deposit, and review the live exchange rate before confirming the instant transfer.

Pro-Tips for Seamless Card Usage

Always verify that your international billing address matches the default address assigned to your Chipper card inside the card details tab. This prevents automated fraud blocks on platforms like Netflix and Apple.
