Hands-On Testing & Review Methodology
Unlike aggregators that summarize marketing material, PayGuide NG tests financial products with real capital. For every virtual card or payment gateway review:
- We create and verify real user accounts using Nigerian KYC documents (NIN, BVN, International Passport).
- We fund cards using standard Nigerian bank accounts (via NGN bank transfer, debit cards, and P2P).
- We execute real live transactions across tier-1 international merchants including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Workspace, Meta Ads Manager, Apple Music, Spotify, Steam, and OpenAI.
- We calculate and document the effective exchange rate, funding fees, maintenance charges, and international authorization success rates.
Editorial Independence
Our editorial decisions are entirely separate from our commercial partnerships. We never accept compensation in exchange for positive reviews or altered benchmark rankings. If a virtual card experiences high decline rates or hidden maintenance fees, we explicitly warn our readers.
